July 30, 2009 As your new Chairman of the Board of Directors, I am proud to support the leadership, medical staff and employees that provide our patients with high quality clinical services. I commend Chandler Swope for his commitment, dedication and insight while serving as our Chairman for the last four years. I am looking forward to working with him in his new role as Vice-Chairman. Clearly, our economic times are challenging for the healthcare environment and have brought significant change to our hospital in the last several months. However, we are preparing for the future by setting our standards high and continuing to focus on what it takes to be efficient and successful. We are employing many of the best practice standards used by other successful hospitals from around the country. We are also making changes in our methodology and developing benchmarking programs to monitor our progress. Because of the dedication of our employees, medical staff and volunteers, BRMC will be a survivor as national healthcare reform takes place.
