BRMC Working To Bring Advanced
Cardiovascular Treatment To The Region

How many friends, neighbors, or loved ones do you know that have been affected by heart disease in our region? This silent killer takes the lives of more than one million Americans every year, and the heart disease rates in our region are among the worst in the nation. In fact, by the time you finish reading this letter, another life will have been lost.

Since 1985, Bluefield Regional Medical Center has provided cardiac services throughout the region. However, we are limited in our ability to provide advanced care by the lack of an open-heart center. For too long our friends, co-workers, and loved ones from Bluefield, Princeton, Tazewell, Bland, and other communities throughout the region have died or suffered simply because we lack access to advanced care.

While we may come from different communities and live under different circumstances, we can all agree on one basic health care conclusion: the people of southern West Virginia and southwestern Virginia deserve access to quality health care. Our friends and loved ones are dying or suffering, simply because the care they need is not readily available. We can no longer be complacent. We need care right here, not a helicopter ride away or two hours on the Interstate.  We deserve the same care in our region that people in Charleston, Roanoke, Winston-Salem and Bristol take for granted.

YOUR HEART IS WORTH THE FIGHT! Along with our doctors, nurses and staff, we will continue to fight to provide the best care possible. But we cannot do it alone. We need your help. The development of an open-heart center will bring world-class doctors, cutting-edge medical technology, and state-of-the-art care to our region. We will not only treat advanced heart disease, but through early detection and intervention we will be able to improve the quality of life for thousands in our region.

Please call our hotline at 866-405-2272 to get involved or to get more information.  I am asking you to help by serving on a committee, distributing materials, collecting information, displaying yard signs, or writing letters of support.

And let officials in Charleston know that your support this heart center. Their addresses are listed below.

With your help we will be successful. With your help we will get the care we deserve.

Thank you.
