Residents of southern West Virginia MONDAY, JULY 21 IS YOUR CHANCE TO MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD! I am writing on behalf of Cardiac Care Builders, a group of concerned citizens and local leaders united in support of a regional heart center in southern West Virginia, because the future of advanced heart care is in jeopardy. Charles Dunn, West Virginia’s consumer advocate, located in Charleston, has questioned the need for these services and filed as an affected party with the state Health Care Authority, slowing down the approval process considerably for BRMC’s proposed heart center. I have contacted Mr. Dunn on behalf of Cardiac Care Builders and asked him to attend our next meeting, Monday, July 21 at 5 p.m. at the Bluefield Holiday Inn so he can hear from the consumers he represents. We are very excited that Mr. Dunn has agreed to attend this meeting, which may be our only opportunity to meet with him face-to-face to let him know how we feel. WE NEED YOUR HELP. This is a critical point in determining whether we will receive these services. Please plan to attend this meeting and invite your friends, families and neighbors, as this may be our last chance to convince Mr. Dunn of the great need for a heart center. At the meeting, we will ask Mr. Dunn to withdraw as an affected party so a public hearing will not be required. This will allow the state Health Care Authority to make an immediate and objective decision. The sooner this decision is made, the sooner southern West Virginia residents will have access to these life-saving heart services. EVERY VOICE COUNTS - we must join together to make sure the folks in Charleston hear our united voice and clearly understand our mission. Please attend this meeting; we desperately need your support. Sincerely,
