Bluefield Regional Medical Center has been awarded the 2007 American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life “Top Year End Fundraising Team.” Today, at noon, Sherry Ciccoloni, Director of Mercer County’s American Cancer Society, presented a 6 ft. tall trophy and a beautiful plant to Lynn Whitteker, CEO in appreciation for all the work and dedication that Bluefield Regional Medical Center employees have contributed to this year’s Relay for Life. Ms. Whitteker, Dr. Schor, Dr. Olmsted and Lani Crane, BRMC Relay Captain, accepted this on behalf of the entire hospital. Immediately following the presentation, a meeting was held regarding plans for fundraising for the upcoming year.

Ms. Whitteker was very pleased, to say the least, with this being our first win in Relay history. She said, “This trophy belongs to the entire hospital and I appreciate all the hard work and volunteer hours that our employees contributed to help out our community. The American Cancer Society is a very worth while organization that helps with cancer research and with individuals in our area affected with cancer.”
