Physical and Occupational Therapy Success Stories

Joseph S.

Joseph is one of the children who are being followed by the occupational therapy staff of BRMC through the West Virginia Birth to Three program. Joseph was born five weeks premature, which has contributed to some challenges in achieving developmental milestones. In addition to the occupational therapy staff Joseph also has a developmental specialist, registered nurse, dietician, and service coordinator on his team. Joseph has shown great progress in his development, and is truly a symbol of success for what early intervention can do in the life of a child.

James Boone

Mr. Boone started physical therapy as a result of a burn on his foot. Mr. Boone says he was soaking an ulcer on his foot when he apparently heated the water too hot. This resulted in burns over his entire foot. Mr. Boone’s therapist says that Mr. Boone has been attending therapy regularly and as a result his foot is healing very well. Mr. Boone says that his physician is very pleased with his progress. Mr. Boone states that he has received “terrific service” from very nice people in the physical therapy department at BRMC. Mr. Boone also says that he would recommend BRMC to others if they needed therapy.
